Confirmation

 

Preparation to receive the sacrament of Confirmation is a two-year process.  It builds on the consistent catechesis received in grades 1-7.   Weekly classes for preparation to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation will begin in 7th grade.  

 At the end of the 7th grade, parents will be informed about Confirmation preparation in 8th grade.  Each student’s knowledge of their faith, as well as their commitment to the process, will be assessed before entering the Confirmation classes.

 8th grade students will attend weekly classes using the chosen curriculum for Confirmation preparation.  In addition to the regular weekly instruction, parents, sponsors, and students will be able to journey together through different experiences of prayer, liturgy, Christian Ministry Service, and reflection on their faith.  Materials will be provided each year for families/sponsors to help foster that process.   Confirmation will take place at the end of 8th grade.
